1. Background
The Alawite Islamic Charity Association (AICA) is implementing a CRS-funded Education in Emergency (EiE) project to support displaced Syrian children and vulnerable host communities in North Lebanon, primarily in Jabal Mohsen. This initiative aims to provide structured learning opportunities, enhance child protection, and ensure household stability through integrated education
and well-being interventions.
To ensure the effective operation and implementation of the CRS-funded EiE project, AICA seeks 3 qualified candidates for the position of Recreational Facilitator (RF). The Recreational Facilitator will be responsible for delivering structured recreational and psychosocial activities that complement the educational sessions provided within the learning centers. These activities will help
children release stress, enhance engagement, and support their social and emotional well-being while ensuring smooth content absorption.
RF's will work directly with children, educators, the project team, and parents to create a safe and stimulating environment where students can receive additional psychosocial support through engaging activities. They will deliver structured activity sessions for each class, integrating creative, educational, and recreational exercises in alignment with child protection and EiE principles.
Each 2-hour academic session will be complemented with a 1.5 hour of recreational activity designed to create a relaxed and engaging learning environment. These activities aim to support children's emotional regulation and encourage participation, helping them better absorb academic content. Students will be placed in structured learning cycles based on their academic level:
Cycle 1: Grades 1, 2, and 3
Cycle 2: Grades 4, 5, and 6
Cycle 3: Grades 7, 8, and 9
Recreational Facilitators will play a key role in ensuring children benefit from a holistic learning experience that addresses both
their educational and psychosocial needs.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Program Delivery:
- Design and facilitate creative, educational, and recreational activities tailored for children aged 6–16.
- Adapt activities to meet the diverse needs and abilities of children, promoting inclusivity and participation.
- Integrate structured psychosocial support techniques to help children manage stress and engage positively in learning.
- Ensure that activities align with the CRS EiE project’s educational goals while fostering creativity and resilience.
- Manage daily schedules, ensuring timely delivery of all planned activities.
B. Child Supervision and Well-being:
- Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all children during sessions.
- Monitor child behavior and provide supportive interventions as needed.
- Recognize and report any signs of child protection concerns to the relevant authorities or management.
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive environment that encourages children's participation.
C. Community Engagement:
- Communicate with parents and caregivers to provide updates on children's progress and program outcomes.
- Incorporate feedback from children and families to improve program content and delivery.
- Act as a positive role model and advocate for children's rights and well-being.
D. Collaboration with Staff:
- Work closely with the facilitators, AICA protection/ health team, and the Center Coordinator to align activities with the educational curriculum and student needs.
- Participate in planning and evaluation meetings with the project team to ensure continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance to other facilitators and educators on integrating walk-in activities within educational sessions.
- Share updates and progress reports with center leadership to ensure alignment with project objectives.
E. Compliance and Reporting:
- Adhere to child protection policies, safeguarding measures, and other relevant guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, activities, and incidents.
- Submit regular reports on program outcomes and challenges to the Center Coordinator and project team.
- Ensure all activities comply with AICA, CRS, and EiE standards and guidelines.
3. Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in education, social work, psychology, or a related field with similar experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in a teaching, social work, or recreational activity setting.
- Knowledge of child development principles, psychosocial support techniques, and activity facilitation strategies.
- Strong ability to create a fun, engaging, and supportive environment while maintaining discipline.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with children, parents, and project staff.
- Fluency in Arabic is a MUST; English or French is an advantage.
- Familiarity with safeguarding practices and child protection principles.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office tools and social media platforms.
- Prior experience in working with displaced or vulnerable children is highly preferred.
4. Duration
- 5 Months contract, with a monthly fee of $220.
- Each facilitator will be responsible for 2 groups providing each a 1.5 Hr. for 3 days/week, totaling 9 hours per week.
5. Reporting Line & Supervision
- Recreational Facilitators will report weekly to their assigned Center Coordinator and/or the Program Manager (PM).
- Performance will be evaluated monthly based on:
- Student engagement metrics (participation, feedback, observed well-being improvements).
- Effectiveness of facilitated activities (impact on student learning and emotional support).
- Compliance with AICA, CRS, and child protection policies.
The Recreational Facilitator role is essential in ensuring the successful implementation of AICA’s CRS-funded EiE project. The selected candidate will contribute to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that prioritizes both educational success and child well-being.
Retention Support Facilitator

To ensure the effective operation and implementation of the CRS-funded Education in Emergency (EiE) project, AICA seeks 3 qualified candidates for the position of Retention Support Facilitator (RSF) to enhance student retention among displaced Syrian children and vulnerable host communities in North Lebanon. The RSF will play a critical role in engaging displaced Syrian, supporting educators, and smoothen learning continuity in a tailored Education guideline while these children remain in Lebanon.
The Retention Support Facilitator will work directly with students, peer facilitators, the project team, and parents to maintain the children's academic perception, enhance educational engagement, and provide psychosocial support. RSFs will deliver tailored learning support through a 2-hour instructional module, three days per week, integrating the Syrian curriculum while introducing Lebanese language components and key academic topics. This approach aims to ensure children are academically engaged and introduce key language and components in case children may consider integration into the Lebanese education system in the following academic year.
Each 2-hour session will be complemented with 1 hour of recreational activity (provided by the recreational facilitator) to create a relaxed and engaging learning environment, allowing children to release stress and absorb academic content more effectively.
Students will be placed in structured learning cycles based on their academic level:
Cycle 1: Grades 1, 2, and 3
Cycle 2: Grades 4, 5, and 6
Cycle 3: Grades 7, 8, and 9
RSFs may take full classes or cover specific subjects as determined in coordination with the Center Coordinator and in alignment with the project schedule and needs. This role aligns with CRS’s EiE priorities, ensuring inclusive, high-quality learning opportunities for children affected by displacement and crisis.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Student Support:
- Identify through observation, assessments, and consultations with center staff and parents, the children relevant to attend the RS support.
- Develop and implement individualized support plans tailored to the unique needs of students in community centers, addressing academic, social, and emotional challenges if requested.
- Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions within the community center to improve academic performance and build confidence.
- Assist in the implementation of community center activities and engagement programs
- Facilitate learning support aligned with EIE guidelines
B. Parental and Community Engagement:
- Work closely with parents/caregivers who visit community centers to address external factors affecting student challenges, such as family risks or lack of resources. This process is supported by qualified personnel at AICA from the "health or protection team" in full coordination with the center coordinator and the PM.
- Organize workshops if needed for parents and visiting students at the community center to emphasize the importance of education and provide guidance on supporting their children’s learning.
- Build strong relationships with community center staff and local stakeholders to create a supportive network for students and their families.
C. Collaboration with Staff:
- Collaborate with community center team and other facilitators to identify struggling students and adapt teaching strategies for inclusive education.
- Conduct regular counseling sessions for students experiencing distress.
- Provide guidance to community center staff on effective ways to engage students and foster a positive learning environment.
- Share updates and progress reports with community center leadership and relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment and support.
D. Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Track daily attendance, academic performance, and behavioral progress of supported students who participate in community center programs.
- Document success stories, challenges, and lessons learned from working with students in community centers to inform program improvement.
- Prepare regular reports to share with community center coordinators and AICA's PM to be shared with student's caregivers and sector working groups and /or MEHE and/or CRS if needed.
E. Advocacy and Awareness:
- Advocate for inclusive practices and support systems within community centers
- Promote the integration of educational support programs within community centers to ensure students have access to resources that enhance their learning and retention
3. Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in education and social development related field (Mathematics, Arabic Literature, French/English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, psychology, social sciences/humanities, specialized education, or social animation) or relevant degree
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching, counseling, or student support roles, preferably with school students and NGO experience
- Strong understanding of barriers to student retention and effective intervention strategies for Cycles 1, 2, and 3.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, parents, and other facilitators.
- Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
- Proficiency in Arabic and English is a MUST; French is an advantage.
- Patient, compassionate, and committed to student success.

4. Duration
- 5 Months, monthly fees of 250$/month where each facilitator will facilitate sessions for 2 classes where each will receive 2hrs/session over 3 times a week, totaling 12 hrs./week.
- Monthly salary is subject to 8.5% Non-Residential Tax deduction as per Lebanese labor law
5. Reporting Line & Supervision
- RSFs will report weekly to his/her Center Coordinator and/or the PM
- Performance will be evaluated monthly based on:
- Student engagement metrics (attendance, dropout rates, feedback).
- Effectiveness of learning support.
- Compliance with AICA, CRS, and education sector policies.

alignment with EiE standards, and operational efficiency. The role involves strategic planning, team supervision, coordination with
caregivers and local stakeholders, engagement with relevant authorities, and ensuring compliance with sectoral, AICA, and CRS
requirements. The coordinator will serve as the primary point of accountability for center performance and the educational impact
on beneficiaries.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Center Management & Operations
- Oversee the daily operations and administration of the assigned center.
- Ensure the center meets AICA's AAP principles and humanitarian standards.
- Develop and plan center activity strategy in alignment with project objectives, by managing and supporting the center staff,
ensuring clarity of roles, accountability, and capacity building
B. Program Coordination & Implementation
- Coordinate and oversee the implementation of education activities mainstreaming a protection lens, coordinating with
stakeholders, including local authorities and community representatives
- Supervise administrative and logistical activities, ensuring smooth daily operations, ensuring all activities align with
AICA's project framework.
- Maintain and monitor center records, including outreach, attendance, feedback, and programmatic reports
- Work closely with selected shelter coordinators in his/her area if any, along the community stakeholders and local
authorities to optimize service delivery.
C. Community Engagement & Accountability
- Foster community participation and feedback mechanisms for service improvement.
- Promote localization and sustainability efforts in line with AICA's strategies.
- Conduct awareness sessions and community meetings.
D. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of center activities and beneficiary data.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly reports to AICA's Program / Project Manager.
- Ensure compliance with AICA’s project monitoring and evaluation (M&E) requirements.
- E. Compliance & Safeguarding
- Enforce AICA’s safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Prevent and report any misconduct, SEA, GBV risks, or safety concerns.
3. Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in education and social development related field (Mathematics, Arabic Literature, French/English
Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, psychology, sociology, social sciences/humanities, specialized education, or social
animation) or LT in education or relevant managerial skills
- Proven experience in working in disadvantaged urban communities and vulnerable groups for a minimum of 2 years'
experience
- Previous experience with children from 5 to 16 years old
- Capable of dealing with children who have experienced distress
- Ability to work under pressure
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge in using MS-Word / MS-Excel – Intermediate Level

4. Reporting Line & Supervision
- The Center Coordinator will report directly to the AICA Program Manager, ensuring alignment with CRS's funding requirements and program deliverables.
- Duration: 5 Months, 600$ Monthly fees for 8hrs/day, up to 6 days/week upon deliverables need.

Terms of Reference (ToR)
The Cleaners/Janitors will be responsible for ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation in all designated project centers under the CRS -funded intervention. The role contributes to maintaining a safe and clean environment that supports the education and well-being of children in Jabal Mohsen Center.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Cleaning Duties
- Maintain the cleanliness of all project premises, including classrooms, offices, washrooms, and common areas.
- Ensure floors are swept, vacuumed, and mopped as required.
- Empty and disinfect trash bins regularly and ensure proper disposal in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Maintain hygienic conditions in restrooms by cleaning toilets, sinks, mirrors, and replenishing supplies.
2. Hygiene and Disinfection
- Disinfect high-contact surfaces, such as door handles, desks, chairs, and shared equipment.
- Conduct deep cleaning of facilities as required, particularly before and after large activities or events
- Monitor stock levels of cleaning materials and request replenishments proactively.
- Report any supply shortages or issues with cleaning equipment to the Logistics Coordinator.
- Follow occupational health and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with AICA policies and donor requirements.
- Use protective equipment such as gloves and masks when handling hazardous cleaning agents.
- Immediately report any maintenance needs, safety hazards, or infrastructure damages.
- Assist in emergency cleaning tasks (e.g., spills, urgent sanitation needs, and disinfection in case of outbreaks).
- Support center teams in maintaining emergency hygiene standards as required.
- Uphold ethical conduct and adhere to Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Not required; prior cleaning experience preferred.
- Experience: 6 months to 1 year of experience in janitorial work or facility maintenance.
- Languages: Fluent in Arabic.
